Things Learned
While Pursuing An
Online Conflict Resolution Certificate:
Formal dispute resolution processes such as negotiation,
mediation, and arbitration. These varied alternatives for resolving disputes are private and more
efficient than traditional adversarial proceedings. We train individuals
in the essential elements of each process, including relevant skills,
procedural steps, terminology, participant roles, and legal
considerations. UNCG offers a more formal study of conflict
resolution in its new certificate program designed for mediators,
arbitrators and other professionals.
Individual and group skill building in conflict resolution
and independent mediation course study. Conflict arises at all levels of an organization, but need not be
a destructive force. Our training is geared towards teaching individuals
and groups to resolve conflicts and disputes at the lowest possible level
and by the parties directly involved using independent mediation course
study.
Interest-based negotiations, conflict resolution, and problem
solving. There are many ways to negotiate a labor contract, resolve
disputes, or solve problems. We teach parties how to take the competition
out of collective bargaining and day-to-day workplace conflicts through
alternative mechanisms that often lead to more constructive and mutually
satisfying outcomes.
Violence in the Workplace: Policy and Prevention.
The essential elements of a workplace violence prevention program
and independent mediation course study include policies,
independent mediation, behaviors, and skills for defusing potential violence or
reacting to violence incidents. We help organizations and individuals
learn to identify and address the sources of potential violence and deal
with individuals in crisis.
