Information
The online Post-Master's
Certificate (PMC) in Advanced School Counseling is a
certificate intended for counselors who have at least two
years of counseling experience in a school setting, who are
fully licensed (M level) as a school counselor in North
Carolina, and who have a Master's degree in counseling (48
hours minimum). The UNCG Department of Counseling and
Educational Development is working on mechanisms by which
fully licensed school counselors with a less than 48-hour
Master's degree can become eligible to apply to the program.
Please call (336) 334-3432 for more information if this is
applicable to you.
Technology orientation for online learning is offered to new
students at the start of each term. The department typically
offers two courses per semester.
This online certificate teaches new skills and fosters
professional networking among the school counselors across the
state. Completion of the certificate has the potential for
salary increases as specified by NCDPI policies.
