Various campus computer labs will have computers, which can access uncGenie during this period. You may call (336) 334-3163 (Registration Services) for assistance.
You are urged to pay your tuition online, by mail, or in person as soon as possible to avoid cancellation for non-payment.
Continuing students enrolled at UNCG during the Spring Semester 2008 do not need to complete the Student Information Form.
Read all instructions carefully. You must have the following information ready before you attempt to register: Student ID number and complete course information, including the Course Reference Numbers (CRN) for all courses. You must enter the CRN to register for your courses.
Be sure to have ready a list of alternate courses in the event that your first choices are filled. You may check the availability of courses on the Web from UNCGenie link at the top of this page.
Many courses have special restrictions or require special written permission for registration. Pay special attention to any course restrictions listed as footnotes in the Schedule of Courses, and make arrangements for meeting those restrictions prior to registration.
Please note the following:
Currently the system will check for restrictions based on school, major, level (graduate or undergraduate) and classification (SN, JR, SO, FR, etc.).
Certain courses require special permission of department or faculty and are so footnoted. These courses may be processed in person in certain departments, or the University Registrar’s Office (180 Mossman Building) using a signed Drop/Add form.
Written permission is required to register for a course that has been closed or that has restricted enrollment, as stated in the footnote.
Registration sessions will have time limits. You will be informed when you log on to UNCGenie the time limit that is in effect. If you cannot complete your course transactions during your initial access, you should login again during your window and access the system to finish your registration.
You can obtain a printed copy of your Summer 2008 schedule when registering via the Web by printing it to any available printer. For these instructions and complete information on how to register via the Web, see the UNCGenie Web Instructions.
During the registration period a number of courses will reach enrollment limits and close. To register for classes which have closed, you must obtain a departmental or instructor’s signature on your drop/add form, and have it processed by the University Registrar’s Office. The registration system does not maintain waiting lists for courses.
Students may enroll for no more than 14 semester hours during the Summer Session and no more than 7 semester hours per term, unless permitted to take an increased load by the Director of Student Academic Services or the Graduate School. Undergraduate students enrolling for special short courses will not be permitted to enroll simultaneously for other summer study without official authorization.
